He considers this course one of his top 10 favorites, and it’s easy to see why. Established in 1998, Ria Bintan attracts golfers from all over the world with its stunning ocean views.  

The 18-hole Ocean Course treats players to breathtaking views of the South China Sea, while the 9-hole Forest Course winds through mature woodlands, presenting a variety of challenges with its bunkers and fairways (as of July 2025 the Forest course is closed for rennovations).  

The Ocean Course offers a beautiful mix of ocean views and windy jungle fairways. The course is a proper long championship course with lots of risk/reward holes and plenty of water and bunkers to navigate. Watch out for monkeys trying to get at your golf buggy!

Well worth a trip, but bear in mind that the course only provides 1 caddie per buggy (there is a Rp450k surcharge for an extra!). The course is not the busiest, which is often great as you get to enjoy it in solitude, but you can also see the lack of investment in the fairway maintenance.
