What are the best golf courses to play in Indonesia?

The rainy/dry seasons vary across Indonesia and can be somewhat unpredictable. Typically Indonesia experiences a rainy and a dry season. Rainy season usually means a thunderstorm in the afternoon, so golf can be played all year round.
In Jakarta rainy season is typically October to March. Bali is November to April. Batam is November to March.

Yes. It’s possible some of the more remote courses do not have, but I have never played at a course without caddies or where caddies are not compulsory. Tipping is mandatory, the minimum as of 2024 is usually Rp250,000 ($16) but could be higher at more premium courses.

Yes. Although there are many championship courses, there are plenty of beginner friendly courses with less hazards and wider fairways. To be honest I have never heard/seen a golf course in Indonesia check handicaps prior to play, so if you really wanted to hack round a championship course, there is nothing to stop you! But please try to keep up the pace…

Dress code is pretty similar to anywhere: collared shirt, shorts or trouser but no denim or sweatpants. Golf shoes look like running shoes now so just don’t wear flip flops!

Most golf courses are golf cart only and very few allow cart on fairway, evern when dry. There are a few courses that allow walking or are primarily walking. Use the filters to find courses with buggy on fairway or walking allowed
